South Yorkshire commits to PINS 4.0.
South Yorkshire originally purchased PINS Version 3.3 in September 2009, staff and officers were quickly convinced that PINS is an invaluable asset. T/DI Gary Williams commented that "PINS 3.3 is rolled out across the force, it is a significant asset during investigations and is extensively used by the Regional Intelligence Unit. Saadian has unrivalled expertise and Version 4.0 will provide South Yorkshire with even greater benefits when released in September 2010."
The geo-coding technology that PINS Version 4.0 will offer will make it possible to overlay the prisoner release data giving a visual representation of many localised data sources helping staff and officers proactively improve detection rates. The prisoner-centric view will simplify the process for determining when nominals were in custody at any particular time and make it is easier to view historic details. This will reduce investigation time and improve efficiencies.
